SalActiveX
Namespace: PPJ.Runtime.Windows
Assembly: PPJ.Runtime.50 (5.0.0.0)
Hosts an ActiveX control while exposing SAL window actions and window operations.
- C#
- VB.NET
public class SalActiveX : AxHost, ISalWindow
Public Class SalActiveX
Inherits AxHost
Implements ISalWindow
Example:
void AddActiveX(System.Windows.Forms.Control parent, string registeredClsid)
{
var control = new PPJ.Runtime.Windows.SalActiveX(registeredClsid);
((System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize)control).BeginInit();
parent.Controls.Add(control);
((System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize)control).EndInit();
}
Constructors
SalActiveX(clsid)
Initializes the ActiveX host for the supplied COM class identifier.
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| clsid | String | The string form of the installed ActiveX control's CLSID. |
Properties
NamedProperties
SalNamedProperties: Gets the SAL named-property collection associated with this control.
Methods
AttachInterfaces()
Assigns the hosted COM object to the translated coclass wrapper field when one is available.
AutoErrorMode(on)
Configures automatic error handling for SAL COM object wrappers.
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| on | SalBoolean | The new SalObject.AutoErrorMode setting. |
Returns: SalBoolean. True after assigning the setting.
BringWindowToTop()
Brings this control to the front, or activates it when it is a top-level or MDI form.
Returns: SalBoolean. True if the translated control exists; otherwise, false.
CenterWindow()
Centers this window within its parent or, for a top-level form, its owner or screen working area.
Returns: SalBoolean. True when the translated control exists; otherwise, false.
A top-level form is constrained to the selected screen working area. A control without a parent is unchanged unless it is a top-level form.
ClearCursor(type)
Restores the default cursor for a role, using the I-beam for TextBox subclasses.
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| type | SalNumber | The cursor role: Sys.CURSOR_Window, Sys.CURSOR_DragDrop, or Sys.CURSOR_DisableDrop. |
Returns: SalBoolean. True if the cursor is assigned to a supported role; otherwise, false.
CreateSink()
Connects the host to COM source interfaces declared by its runtime type.
Connection failures are traced and do not propagate from this method.
DestroyWindow()
Closes this window when it is a form, or disposes the control.
Returns: SalBoolean. True if the operation is accepted by the SAL window implementation; otherwise, false.
A true result reports that the close or disposal request was made; a form can apply its own closing behavior.
DetachSink()
Disconnects existing COM event connection points and clears their cookies.
Disconnection failures are traced.
DisableWindow()
Disables input to this control, or clears editability for a table column.
Returns: SalBoolean. True if the operation is accepted by the SAL window implementation; otherwise, false.
DoVerb(ctrl, verb, resize)
Executes an OLE verb on an ActiveX host, optionally filling its parent first.
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ctrl | Control | The ActiveX host. |
| verb | Int32 | The OLE verb identifier. |
| resize | Boolean | True to place the host at the parent origin and copy the parent size before executing. |
Returns: SalBoolean. True after execution; false for a non-ActiveX control or a caught failure.
EnableWindow()
Enables input to this control, or enables editing for a table column.
Returns: SalBoolean. True if the operation is accepted by the SAL window implementation; otherwise, false.
For text-box controls, this operation also clears the read-only setting.
Native disabled styles are also cleared. When needed, tab navigation is restored except for unchecked radio buttons.
FindChild(windowName)
Searches this window for a child control by name.
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| windowName | SalString | The child control name to locate. |
Returns: SalWindowHandle. The matching child handle, or a null SAL handle if no child is found.

GetClassName()
Gets the translated application class name associated with this control.

Forms use their base type; nested table-window types are walked upward to a non-nested type.
GetControlType()
Gets the SAL window type of this control.
Returns: SalNumber. The SAL Sys.TYPE_* code for the translated control.
GetFirstChild(typeMask)
Finds the first child matching a SAL window-type mask.
| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| typeMask | SalNumber | The SAL window types to include; zero matches no controls. |

| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ctrl | Control | The ActiveX host. |
| obj | SalObject | The non-null wrapper to update. |
Returns: SalBoolean. True after assignment; false for an invalid target or a caught failure.
AutoRelease is set to false because the ActiveX host owns the COM object.

| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| colorIndex | SalNumber | The Sys.COLOR_Index* color component to read. |
Returns: SalNumber. The color encoded as a Win32 color value, or zero if the control is unavailable.
Transparent colors are reported as Sys.COLOR_None. Table-column window colors use the system window colors; cell colors use the column settings.
